Lesson: Air to Air Refueling
Overview & Purpose
Student will learn proper comms and procedures to successfully refuel from the C-130.
Education Standards
- Student will be taught comms and rejoin procedures.
- Student will be shown useful sightlines and general advice for hooking up to the tanker.
Objectives
- Student will use proper comms while rejoining with tanker.
- Student will take on no less then 7,000 lbs of fuel.
- Student will demonstrate proper rejoin and departure from tanker airspace.
- Student will lead flight back to Senaki airfield and perform overhead break for landing.
Verification
- Mentor will ensure student maintains proper distances and altitudes.
- Mentor will ensure formations are executed and maintained properly.
- Mentor will ensure student performs all proper comms and airfield etiquette.
Activity
Mentor will fly off students wing both to and from tanker and ensure all comms and procedures are adhered to.
Check-off
Mentor will ensure student is confident in formation flying for preparation for Case I.
